Descrizione
The Good Samaritan kneels beside a wounded traveler on the road, carefully tending his injuries while a saddled donkey waits nearby. The rocky roadside setting and the helpless man lying in the ditch identify the parable Jesus told about mercy on the road from Jerusalem to Jericho. The Samaritan’s posture is humble and attentive, turning compassion into costly action rather than distant sympathy. In Luke 10:30-37, Jesus uses this encounter to answer the question, “Who is my neighbor?” The true neighbor is the one who shows mercy, crossing social boundaries to bind wounds, provide transport, and pay for care. This artwork is well suited for teaching on Christian compassion, mercy ministry, outreach, neighborly love, and the call to serve the suffering.
