Il buon samaritano

The Good Samaritan brings the wounded traveler to an inn, lifting him onto a donkey and arranging his care with the innkeeper. The injured man sits weakly on the animal while the Samaritan leans forward in concern, offering payment and responsibility for the stranger’s recovery. Stone buildings, onlookers, and the road setting place the parable in a village along the way from Jerusalem to Jericho.

Drawn from Luke 10, this scene presents the heart of Jesus’ teaching on neighborly love. The Samaritan, a man despised by many of Jesus’ hearers, becomes the true example of mercy because he stops, binds up wounds, carries the sufferer, and provides continuing care.
